Teacher attempts to balance work groups by race are not always met well by African-American students (Rubin).
Thought: Hispanic students attend ESL classes. Besides helping students learn English, ESL classes also provide a comfortable area and time for Hispanic students to get together and 'retrieve' their cultural identity.
Is there a way, African-American students could be afforded such an opportunity?
