Open Access Dialogue Hijacked

Hi all,

Unfortunatley a very healthy debate about open access on this site was hijacked by another's site's agenda.

And so the Freire blogger who started the conversation asked us to remove all the content surrounding it. To be clear, The Freire Project hasn't censored anyone.

It saddens me greatly that this has hapenned, as I was really hoping that the Freire Project and our community was going to learn a thing or two and also offer its two cents to the Creative Commons movement.

But hopefully this conversation can start afresh now that the troll seems to have stopped their aggression.

All the best,

David

Gendertopia in Vermont & $25k settlement in California

I'm excited to be writing about a new program that is partially funded by the Burlington School District that supports a flexible and open exploration of gender diversity in the context of teen lives.  It is being run by Outright Vermont, a local social service agency, in conjunction with the local school district. One of the program's organizers explained,
