Are Black girls and women the new endangered species?
After listening to and reading the latest news media, one must ask sooner or later, if young Black women are the new endangered species.
Compared to other women living in the U.S., African American women are more likely to be victims of domestic violence and homicide at the hands of a partner or ex-partner; more likely to be imprisoned for drug use or abuse/trafficking (instead of receiving treatment); are more likely to be victims of sexual assault and rape at the hands of African American males or White males; Black girls are more likely to be suspended and expelled from school; more likely to be victims of sexual harassment in the workplace; and, Black women are more likely to have their children taken out of the home by children and family services. You decide: Are Black women the new endangered species?
