Educators' Network for Social Justice, a Milwaukee, WI (USA) based network of practicing educators, including pre-service teachers, classroom teachers and post-secondary educators, announces its third annual one-day Antiracist*Antibias Teaching Conference.

The conference is hosted at the beautiful Indian Community School in Franklin, WI (ics-milw.org), featuring a keynote address and three sessions of concurrent, interactive presentations, hands-on workshops and critical dialogues aimed at promoting and demonstrating antiracist and antibias pedagogical practices.

Our keynote speaker this year is Sonia Nieto, Professor Emerita of Language, Literacy and Culture at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and author of Affirming Diversity: The Sociopolitical Context of Multicultural Education and Dear Paulo: Letters from Those Who Dare Teach

Proposal deadline is December 1, 2009. Registration materials will be available in January. Visit the ENSJ website for updates and more information about the conference and our community-based network. Questions about the conference may be directed to the program chair, Royal Bonde-Griggs, at ensjConference@criticalwork.org.
