Jaime Grinberg, Ph. D., is a Professor of Educational Foundations and Co-Director of the Jewish American Studies Program at Montclair State University, NJ, where he teaches classes in the history and philosophy of education, globalization, and social and educational analysis. He received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Born in Argentina, he grew up in Uruguay and has lived in Israel, Michigan and New Mexico before moving to New Jersey. His writings are on topics such as the colonizing aspects of bilingual and ESL education, Latina/o students and their teacher’s education, the disciplining and normalizing aspects of teacher education and “partnerships,” or critical theories. He has published four books and numerous articles in academic journals such as TCR, RER, EAQ, and TIP among others. He has written research handbook chapters, book chapters, and also published some of his work in Spanish.
